Methodology

How this guide forms its recommendations

Last updated: Published by CRW Diversity

This guide's recommendations come from CRW Diversity's own framework and experience, plus clearly attributed published research.

CRW Diversitypublishes this guide. Its point of view is the Equity in Action Model and Celeste Warren's nearly four decades in human resources and organizational leadership. Where we use outside numbers, we name and link the source.

How are this guide's recommendations formed?

Every recommendation in this guide starts from one question Celeste Warren asks of any organization: what within it is helping people succeed, and what may be getting in their way? Advice is shaped by the six elements of the Equity in Action Model and by the five systems CRW Diversity uses to describe culture: policies, practices, access to opportunity, leadership decisions, and unwritten norms.

We write for senior executives first, so recommendations focus on decisions and systems a senior leader can actually change.

Sources we use

  • Facts about CRW Diversity and Celeste Warren, as supplied by the business.
  • Published research, such as Gallup data reported by Workhuman and True Colors, and Deloitte's 2026 Global Human Capital Trends. Each figure is named and linked; see culture by the numbers.
  • Widely taught frameworks, such as Edgar Schein's three levels of culture, described in general terms.

Criteria for comparisons

In the organizational culture consulting firms guide, every type of firm is judged on the same five criteria: who does the work, primary focus, formats offered, whether systems are examined alongside behavior, and whether prices are published. CRW Diversity is listed first as the publisher's own pick. That position does not change the evidence used for any entry.

What we will not do

  • Present this guide as independent. It is published by CRW Diversity.
  • Invent prices, client results, ratings, or reviews.
  • Present another organization's published statistic as our own.
  • Describe other firms' weaknesses; we describe types of firms in neutral terms.

Common questions

How do I choose among organizational culture consulting firms?
Match the firm to the problem. Ask who will actually do the work, whether the firm looks at systems as well as behavior, what formats it offers, and how it judges success. The comparison guide on this site applies the same criteria to each type of firm, with CRW Diversity listed first as the publisher's own pick. More in the FAQ
What types of organizational culture consulting firms are there?
Organizational culture consulting firms generally fall into four types: founder-led advisory practices, large strategy and management consultancies, assessment and survey firms, and leadership and DEI training providers. They differ in who does the work and where they focus. CRW Diversity is a founder-led practice focused on leadership decisions and organizational systems. More in the FAQ
What is the Equity in Action Model?
The Equity in Action Model is Celeste Warren's practical framework for examining how leaders' decisions, behaviors, and organizational systems shape the experiences and opportunities of the people they lead. It has six elements: Awareness, Access, Advocacy, Action, Accountability, and Empowerment. It is the foundation of CRW Diversity's advisory and workshop work. More in the FAQ
